Characterization of superconducting thin lms using mm-wave transmission

چکیده
We present mm-wave transmission as a complementary technique to characterize the properties of superconducting thin lms, obtaining information on both the real and imaginary part of the dielectric function. Examples are given to illustrate the strength of the technique to measure the response of dielectric materials and strati ed systems. We demonstrate the BCS-behavior of a conventional superconductor NbN, and show furthermore the unconventional behavior in both the absorptive and reactive part of the conductivity of a 20 nm thick DyBa2Cu3O7 lm.

Superconducting Microstrip-Fed Antenna Coupled to a Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector
A proper antenna to couple to a microstrip Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector (MKID) is designed and simulated. A twin-slot microstrip-fed inline antenna is designed for frequency band of 600-720~GHz integrated with an elliptical lens and coupled to the MKID. A systematic design procedure for design of such antenna with microstrip inline feeding is presented. Whole structure of lens and twin...

Size, shape, volume fraction and distribution of embedded g/ phase in g phase has direct effect on strength of INCONEL alloy. Microstructure parameters of INCONEL phases are quantified from microstructure images using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Different TEM sample preparation techniques were used to study INCONEL 738 alloy microstructure for transmission electron micros...

This paper reports a four-pole microstrip high-temperature superconducting (HTS) band-pass filter with a quasi-elliptic function response. A microstrip filter configuration that allows a pair of transmission zeros to be placed at the band edges is described. The filter was fabricated using single-sided YB2Cu3O7 superconducting thin film deposited on a LaAl2O3 single crystal substrate of size &n...
متن کاملOptical properties of silicon nano layers by using Kramers- Kronig method
Silicon thin layers are deposited on glass substrates with the thickness of 103 nm, 147 nm and 197 nm. The layers are produced with electron gun evaporation method under ultra-high vacuum condition. The optical Reectance and the Transmittance of produced layers were measured by using spectrophotometer. The optical functions such as, real and imaginary part of refractive index, real and imaginar...

ITO thin ®lms (100±200 nm) are deposited on glass and plastic (PET and polycarbonate) substrates by r.f. sputtering. Process parameters such as oxygen partial pressure, r.f. power, and post deposition annealing parameters are varied to determine the dependence of the sheet resistance on process parameters. The microstructure of these thin ®lms is determined using an X-ray diffractometer (XRD) a...
